Accessory care tips...

The Hats

All the hats at Lollipop London are handmade and most of them are fabric. We recommend when cleaning these to gently use a damp cloth to remove any surface dirt.

We also recommend that structured hats are stuffed with tissue paper or newspaper when not being worn to maintain the shape of the hat. The hats range from 54 to 57 so it is advisable to measure the circumference of your heard to check that your new headwear will fit.

Fabrics

We advise that you clean fabric accessories with a clean damp cloth when needed. There are also good foam fabric cleaners which are available to help with any stubborn stains, always ensure these products are neutral in colour and read the instructions before use.

Leather:

We advise that you spray light coloured leathers - from shoes to bags - with a neutral protective spray to protect the leather against staining. Dark leather can also be sprayed to protect it against any harsh weather conditions. We also advise you use a neutral cream on leather of an unusual colour in which polish cannot be matched to ensure the colour is not altered from the wrong colour polish.

Saddle soaps are also good to nourish leather. If you are looking for a good leather cream we recommend Woly shoe creams www.shoestringuk.com

Suede:

Suede must be sprayed with a neutral protective spray before the first wear. We would like to advise that to maintain the shape of suede boots after wear they are stuffed (you can either purchase boot trees or simply use newspaper).

Particulary if the suede gets wet it is advisable to stuff the boots with newspaper to soak up the moisture after wear. We also suggest a suede brush is used regulary to buff up the suede and get it looking as good as new.

Real skins ( For example a python skin)

With any real skins you need to be careful with how these are conditioned. We do recommend a neutral cream applied with a clean cloth. In some instances you may just need to use a damp cloth to take the surface dirt off the top of the leather.
